McKinney Falls State Park, Austin, Texas
Opinion: Highly Recommended.
Amenities: Interpretive trails, hike/bike trails, hike only trails, historic ruins, and upper and lower waterfalls.
Dates of Stay: February 27-March 2, 2017
Overview of Sites: Twelve 50 amp sites, over sixty 20 or 30 amp sites, six cabins, and a group camping area. The sites range from secluded and private to close to your neighbors with no natural barriers.
Laundry: No laundry on site.
Restrooms: Clean and well stocked restrooms.
Rate: We paid $20.00 per night. Two week maximum stay.
Our Site/Phone/TV: Site 68 – Verizon and AT&T worked for phone, wi-fi at Rangers Station, and several over-the-air channels.
Elevation/Landscape/Terrain: It is located in the outskirts of Austin and you can see the high-rise buildings off in the distance from some parts of the park.
Lighting/Noise: No obtrusive lighting or noise at night.
Favorite Camper Site: None
