Well, we’ve moved on and are staying for a few days at another New York State Park called Keuka Lake State Park which is located in the Finger Lakes Region of central New York state. The Finger Lakes are the heart of wine country in New York state and this area has over 100 wineries and many breweries. (Are you beginning to notice a theme in our travels?)
Keuka Lake is one of 3 major lakes making up the Finger Lakes. Eight trail wineries dot this Y-shaped lake. After Letchworth State Park this was our chance to chill out and relax.
The park’s campground has 150 tent and trailer sites. A swimming beach, picnic shelter, boat launch ramp, docking space, and hiking trails. This campground is all about the lake with boating and fishing. The best way to see the area is through a 180 degree virtual tour by the New York State Parks Department. Enjoy!
There are several Amish and Mennonite stores and restaurants. We enjoyed visiting Oak Hill Bulk Foods for lunch and supplies. A family owned store, deli, and cafe with all made-from-scratch heathy items.
Tip: If you are coming this way and want a nice quiet park we would recommend Keuka Lake State Park but if you want a park with a lot of stuff to do, check out Watkins Glen State Park which has over 19 waterfalls and is one of the oldest and most famous of the Finger Lake State Parks.
