Christmas Holidays 2015

A Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

The Christmas holidays have been wonderful.  We have spent them back and forth between Mississippi and Louisiana.  Here are some of the highlights:

Fountainebleau State Park, Mandeville, Louisiana (Dec. 12-21, 2015)

imageFountainebleau has always been one of our favorite places to visit because the sites are nice, it sits on Lake Pontchartrain with beautiful views, is next to the 31 mile St. Tammy Trace bike trail, and is near one of our favorite towns in Louisiana, Mandeville.

Sue’s House, Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Dec. 21-29, 2015)

It was so nice that we had several offers to stay at the homes of family and friends.  However, our friend, Sue graciously invited us to stay at her house while she was away visiting her family.  She gave us free run of the house complete with RV hookups, a bathtub (I’ve missed a bathtub), and a television with hundreds of channels. (Don was in heaven.)  We want to thank her and other family members  again for their kind offers for us to park our rv at their homes.

During our time here we got all of our annual doctors’ appointments completed and visited with family and friends.  We had a wonderful visit with Don’s family with an early Christmas and with my family on Christmas.  It was great to see everybody and we are so thankful Trevor and his family made the trip to Baton Rouge.  We are enjoying our travels but we do miss our family and friends.

Davis Bayou State Park, Ocean Springs, Mississippi (Dec. 29-Jan. 3, 2016)

We spent the new year in Ocean Springs visiting my younger sister and her family.  It was great to get to spend time with them.  Her grandkids are growing so fast.

Fountainebleau State Park (Jan. 3-7, 2016)

We came back to Fountainebleau to ride our bikes, walk the trails, observe wildlife, and visit Mandeville.  It is a great place to chill and unwind.

Davis Bayou State Park, Ocean Spring (Jan. 7-11, 2016)

We came back to Davis Bayou to visit some more with my sister and her family for the weekend.  We had a great time – we went to the Dolly Parton festival in Bay St. Louis, spent time on the farm with her horses, and got to visit with everyone.

Fountainebleau State Park (Jan. 11-17, 2016)

We came back again to Fountainebleau to be close to Baton Rouge.  We love this place and I needed to have one more simple medical test.  Oh well, let’s just say it went fine and  while we were here we spent time exploring the area.

Happy Trails!
